Housing Ambassador Project

Who should apply?

We are looking for individuals who are well-networked or have a large circle of friends, neighbors, and acquaintances. We give priority to individuals who represent at least one of the following communities:
(1) Seniors
(2) Black, indigenous, people of color
(3) Immigrants, migrants, or refugees
(4) People with disabilities
(5) People with records
(6) People living in vulnerable situations

What will I do?

Housing Ambassadors will participate in an initial training, where they will be equipped with materials and answers for issues tenants often face. Ambassadors will then be assigned a variety of tasks to accomplish over a set period of time, reporting back to The Justice Center with results. This can include:

(1) Helping a neighbor or acquaintance understand their rights or next steps to deal with a housing matter
(2) Sharing more about The Justice Center’s services
(3) Speaking to a group of community members or neighbors about issues related to housing
(4) Posting on social media about resources and services available

Ambassador Levels

All Ambassador Levels will receive compensation based on their level of completion, and Senior Ambassadors will receive an official certificate!

Junior Ambassadors (JA)
JA’s must attend the initial training, and make at least 10 neighbors aware of services and resources.

Ambassadors (A)
A’s must attend the initial training, make 15+ neighbors aware of services, and post content on social media over a period of three months.

Senior Ambassadors (SA) *Certificate Level
SA’s must attend the initial training, make 25+ neighbors aware of services, post content on social media, and help The Justice Center staff with one housing-related event.
